E.V. is a rocket scientist turned rock star. He is a guitarist of 11 years from Chicago’s south side in the heart of Englewood. After receiving his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he took a dramatic detour to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a rock star. E.V. fuses ‘80s style rock ‘n roll with hip-hop/R&B to create a truly unique style of guitar playing. E.V. was featured on WCIU’s The Jam and has performed for BMW’s national events, the 25th Annual BET Black Women’s Expo, SoFar Sounds shows, as well as fundraisers, weddings, and celebrations throughout Chicago. He was most recently seen in “We Are Golden,” a McDonald’s commercial promoting black positivity.
